In February we go back to explore Namibia, one the wildest and most alien looking place on Earth. It will be dramatically changed after the rainy season and a 4X4 experience is just what the doctor ordered: there will be colourful birds and chameleons everywhere, the desert elephants will be more visible while roaming food, the vast pans of Etosha will be teeming with herds of grazers and the predator will be rearing their cubs.
Namibia is a place like no other. If you ever wanted to explore the outer space, this is it. Expect eerie landscapes, strange wildlife and ancient tribes. The journey is guided by Ana & Ionut, who have toured Africa and Asia by motorbikes and MTB, on some of the most challenging terrain and who designed a loop that starts and ends in the capital Windhoek, stretching as far as the remote west.
What to expect?
Well… expect the unexpected. You will be part of a self-sustained team, driving our own 4X4 safari equipped vehicles with supplies and food and spending most of the nights in the African bush wildcamping. You’ll get dusty from head to toe and feel alone in a virgin land, but the rewards will be plenty: from the baffling cliffs of Spitzkoppe, to the untamed Hoanib riverbed, from the thrilling drives on Crowther trail and Palmwag to the Fairy Circles, from the endless flats of Etosha National Park to heavenly freshwater pools hidden in rugged canyons.
One day of this unique experience will be spent near the border with Botswana, for an intimate encounter of the Bushmen, the oldest hunter-gatherers of Southern Africa. By day we will follow the hunters on foot, learning about age-old survival skills and medicinal plants. At night we will stay in their village to witness tribal rituals and to connect with the community. It will be place hard to forget.
